Women’s Empowerment in India: A Journey Towards Equality

The status of women in ancient India was revered, but over time, regressive practices like polygamy, sati, dowry, and female infanticide took root, leading to a male-dominated society. As a result, women are increasingly conscious, fighting for their rights, and gradually reshaping a more equal society in India.
