Women’s Empowerment in India: A Journey Towards Equality
The status of women in ancient India was revered, but over time, regressive practices like polygamy, sati, dowry, and female infanticide took root, leading to a male-dominated society. However, through the relentless efforts of Indian leaders, the status of women has been uplifted. Effective laws have been implemented, and reservation of seats in the Panchayati Raj System has encouraged women’s participation and empowerment. As a result, women are increasingly conscious, fighting for their rights, and gradually reshaping a more equal society in India.
